Windows Live

Apparetnly Live.Com is LIVE, i.e. no longer in beta, but what will that mean for us? Probably not much, although it is a dig at Google who even though they have deployed v2 of GMail it is still in Beta, like pretty much everything of their’s.

I signed up for Hotmail fairly recentlyΒ  and must say I like the familiar feel of the interface, but it is not GMail. I have not been able to put a finger on why I like GMail but it probably has a lot to do with the simplicity of their interface. My only gripe with GMail is the lack of “folders”, yes they have their labels (tags) but I am not fond of having to plow through tons of mail (I usually have 50-300 unread) to find what I am looking for, but then I suppose that is why they have the search feature πŸ™‚

The one reason that I would move is the awesome integration with the Windows Mobile platform. The fact that they give you push mail and contacts is something that makes my life much easier.

HellGate: London

Damn this game πŸ™‚

I am waiting (im)patiently for my copy to arrive to try the online, but the single player has me. I haven’t even loaded up another game in the last three days.

Now the wait for Crysis can begin πŸ˜€

My "Social Network"

Flock

I have now been using Flock for three or so weeks now and must say it feels more stable than FF and most of the plugins I use work fine (Session Manager, PDF Download, StumbleUpon and others).

The people tool bar introduced in the v1 versions is useful, but I would like to have some thing that aggregates my twitter feed something like the way Snitter.

Twitter

I have gotten so addicted to using Twitter that Facebook is not looked at all that often anymore. I have also found it to be an interesting way to keep up with news. IOL has been using it to “push” news stories straight to the user. I have not seen a better way of pushing content, some thing that has been talked about for many years now.

FaceBook

The current rage of Social Netowkring, although I am a bit frustrated using it. I have more application installed than I care for, and must have around 100 invites to others which I haven’t even looked at. Other than that I have found it useful as I found two old school friends and was able to make contact through FB.

NING

I have recently been using Ning as Sword and Laser, and it is an interesting concept as it gives anyone the ability to create their own social network. I wonder what will happen once the Open Social Framework goes live there, could be some interesting applications appearing.

Blog SPAM

I have so not wanted to do this, but comment spam is making me crazy. Akismet says it has blocked 116 messages in the last two days, and I do not have a “popular” blog, cripes I hardly even use it. From now on in only registered users will be able to comment…..
